At 3:28 p.m., officers responded to Grand Avenue and Beatty Street after a pickup truck struck a vehicle at the intersection and fled the scene, Hackettstown police said. A witness followed the vehicle, which eventually pulled into the driveway of a residence on College View Drive, police said. Samantha Gardner, of Hackettstown, was behind the wheel of a Sierra pickup truck heading north on Grand Avenue near Robins Court when the vehicle stalled and she exited just after 2:10 p.m. on Monday, March 14, local police said in a Wednesday release.
