Falling Tree Limb In Fair Lawn Knocks Elmwood Park Man Off Ladder
A 60-year-old Elmwood Park man cutting down a tree on a residential Fair Lawn street was struck by a falling limb and knocked off a ladder, authorities said. The victim complained of leg and shoulder pain after falling 20 or so feet shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, July 20. Members of the Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps took him to Hackensack University Medical Center, Police Sgt. Eric Eleshewich said. Borough police and Fair Lawn Rescue members also responded, the sergeant said.

Minivan Carrying Developmentally Disabled Occupants Hits Tree in Fair Lawn
At least two people were hospitalized after a van carrying developmentally disabled occupants slammed into a tree Friday afternoon in Fair Lawn. Two victims -- one of whom had a large cut on his forehead -- were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood after the crash at 17th and Columbia streets around 3:30 p.m. Borough police and Fair Lawn Rescue members responded along with ambulances from Bergen New Bridge Medical Center and Paramus. Flatbed Mounts Divider, Concrete Goes Flying In Collision With Garbage Truck In Fair Lawn
The cab of a flatbed tower mounted a concrete divider after colliding with a garbage truck Thursday morning in Fair Lawn. The driver for City-Wide Towing of Hawthorne said he was headed west on Broadway just past the Route 4/208 split when a car cut him off, pushing his rig into the back of garbage truck owned by Interstate Waste Services of Teaneck shortly after 10:15 a.m. The tow truck got hooked onto the garbage truck’s rear push bar and was turned sideways before it slammed into the median, sending concrete flying, Sgt.
