Former Bridgwater Officer, West Milford Special Officer Thomas Dinan Dies
Thomas Dinan, a police officer in West Milford, died on Tuesday, July 30, 10 days after his 66th birthday, the department announced.
Dinan joined the West Milford Police Department in June 2018 as a Class II special officer, assisting with traffic details, township events, prisoner watches and transports and court security, police said.
Prior to joining West Milford, Dinan spent 27 years in the Bridgewater Police Department, rising to the rank of lieutenant, before retiring in 2015 after serving as patrol officer, narcotics investigator, bias crimes officer and counterterrorism liaison, polâŚ

Armed with search warrants, investigators hit 10 locations in Passaic, Bergen, and Sussex counties, leading to the arrests of Demoy Woolley and QaâLasia Williams.

Miguel NuĂąez, 50, pleaded guilty to fentanyl possession and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon during a hearing in U.S. District Court in Newark on Tuesday, Sept. 11, federal authorities said.
NuĂąez and Jesus Higuera-Parra, 28, of Ontario, California, drove from New York City to Elizabeth to sell the deadly drug on March 24, 2021, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip R. Sellinger said.

Colombian Nationals Nabbed After NJ Home Break-In Nets Jewelry, Furs, Cash, More
Three Colombian nationals remain in federal custody and a fourth has already been deported after the government said they stole jewelry, a Rolex, an antique rifle, furs and cash in a home burglary in Union County.
The quartet also took a stamp collection, luxury bags and more after breaking into the Cranford home shortly before 5 p.m. last Nov. 30, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

Feds: Dealer Admits Selling Fentanyl Dose That Killed Jersey Shore Woman
A Trenton dealer admitted in federal court that she sold a Jersey Shore woman the fentanyl dose that killed her, authorities said.
Tarashanna Blake, 33, met the 39-year-old victim near her Englishtown home, where the sale was made, on May 15, 2018, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.
Englishtown police found the buyer dead of an overdose later that day, with several folds of what at first appeared to be heroin stamped âCAMELâ nearby, Honig said.
It was actually fentanyl, she said.

Seventeen people connected to the Paterson-based 230 Boys street gang were charged federally following a coordinated drug-dealing sweep by a strike force comprised of agents from the DEA, ATF and state, county and local law enforcement, authorities announced Thursday.
The 230 Boys members and associates, all Paterson residents, were involved in selling heroin tied to more than 60 fatal overdoses in New Jersey over the past year, in bags stamped with such names "9 V2," "Dorney Park," "Pandora," and "I Am Back," federal authorities charged.

A mother and son were busted with 23 pounds of pot and $38,630 in drug cash during a raid on a fortified home in Paterson, authorities said.
Police seized all the cash, along with 29 bags, three jars and 1,468 tins of marijuana, 31 THC oil cartridges and 207 pre-rolled blunts, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
Arrested were Jeffrey Lopez, 24, and his mother, Mirtha Mejia, 52. Both were charged with various drug counts.
Police also arrested two buyers, the director said.
He identified them as Yorquis Fernandez, 22, and Manuel Aristy, 26.
