Several pounds of marijuana and 13 firearms were seized last weekend in Newark, including one defaced firearm from a 13-year-old boy, authorities said.
The boy was arrested on the 600 block of 15th Avenue when police observed him with a loaded and defaced firearm on Friday, April 22, Newark Public Safety Director Brian O'Hara said.
On Monday morning, police recovered five illegal weapons following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the South Ward. Aazes Wade, 33, of Newark, was arrested on drug distribution and weapons offenses.

A driver and passenger were charged after numerous drugs including crack cocaine, Molly, and Xanax were found in a car that was pulled over for bearing bogus license plates, authorities said.
Cesar O. Nunez, 32, was driving on Route 22 when he was stopped for having fictitious license plates around 2:05 a.m. on Monday, March 7, Readington Township Police said.
A follow-up search of the vehicle turned up crack cocaine, police said.
Meanwhile, the front seat passenger, Brooklyn resident Delano D. Muller, 33, was found with suspected Xanax, Clonazepan, and Molly, police said.

A Warren County woman accused of selling ecstasy was arrested following a two-week investigation, authorities said.
Elizabeth B. Racanelli, 19, was arrested Dec. 22, Hackettstown Police said Tuesday.
Racanelli, of Mansfield Township, was charged with third-degree distribution of ecstasy, third-degree possession with intent to distribute ecstasy and employing a juvenile in a drug distribution scheme, police said.
Racanelli is scheduled to appear in court.

A 53-year-old Phillipsburg man was charged with selling meth and heroin, authorities said.
Roland Bisher, of Hudson Street in Phillipsburg, was charged following a local three-month investigation into the sale of meth and heroin in Greenwich Township and Phillipsburg by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, officials said Wednesday.
Bisher was taken into custody during a Nov. 23 traffic stop in Phillipsburg, where he was found with heroin, meth, crack cocaine and $1,325 in cash, authorities said.
