Fierce Fire Destroys Palisades Park Home
Two firefighters were injured Sunday in a ferocious blaze that destroyed a 96-year-old Palisades Park home. Responders were met by heavy fire and smoke at the West Harwood Terrace home around 1 p.m. They eventually had to go to an exterior operation as flames blew out the roof and through windows. Driver Dead In NJ Turnpike Crash
Good Samaritans rushed to aid a driver before he died in a crash Monday afternoon on the NJ Turnpike, according to footage obtained by Daily Voice. UPDATE: The driver killed in the crash has been identified as a Central Jersey man. Videos show a silver sedan wedged underneath a tractor trailer -- the driver slumped over the steering wheel. Firefighters Make Quick Work Of Saddle Brook Basement Blaze
Firefighters rescued a dog while quickly dousing a basement blaze that damaged a Saddle Brook home. The fire broke out in the two-story Alberta Drive home around 9 p.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported. Providing mutual aid either at the scene or in coverage were firefighters from Elmwood Park, Fair Lawn, Garfield and Rochelle Park. The Saddle Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded. A dog was rescued and no injuries were reported in the fire on Alberta Drive in Saddle Brook.Damien Danis for DAILY VOICE

Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of Region
A cold front moving across the region is being accompanied by a rapidly moving line of showers and isolated thunderstorms, some of which are expected to be severe, with damaging winds that could cause power outages. The time frame for storm activity from the system moving from west to east is from around 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, according to the National Weather Service. Family Of Missing NJ Man Found Dead 'Taunted By Threats, Harassing Calls'
The body of a 23-year-old man reported missing last month was found along the Jersey Shore -- and his family is desperate for answers, NJ Advance Media reports. Ian Medina, originally of Puerto Rico, had last spoken to his family on Oct. 22, the outlet said. Ten days later, his body was recovered on a waterfront in Carteret, his family told NJ Advance Media. Two children who died after a tow truck driver found them bound and restrained in the back of their mom's car are being remembered by their babysitters.
