Flames Blow Through Roof Of Passaic Home
Firefighters battled a blaze that blew through the roof of a Passaic home Tuesday afternoon. The fire broke out in a three-story wood-frame residence at the corner of High Street and Temple Place shortly after 2 p.m. It went from two alarms to three within minutes and then four alarms soon after. UPDATE: A North Arlington couple from India were both found dead in what was believed to be a murder-suicide after a neighbor heard their 3½-year-old daughter crying, the husband’s father said. "My daughter-in-law was seven months pregnant," Bharat Rudrawar told the news agency Press Trust of India in Mumbai. "We had been to their house and were planning another trip to the US to be with them again.” Balaji Bharat Rudrawar, 33, and Arati Balaji Rudrawar, 31, were going to have a boy, sources with direct knowledge of the incident told Daily Voice. State Police: Volkswagen Driver Airlifted In Route 80 Crash With Tractor-Trailer
A Volkswagen driver was airlifted in a crash on Route 80 westbound in Warren County Wednesday morning, state police said. The driver of a Volkswagen sedan crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer near milepost 2 in Knowlton Township just after 10 a.m., NJSP Trooper Lawrence Peele told Daily Voice. The Volkswagen driver was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, while the tractor-trailer driver was uninjured, Peele said. The westbound lanes were shut down following the crash, which remained under investigation, Peele said.

Firefighters Extricate Passenger In Multi-Vehicle Hawthorne Crash
Hawthorne firefighters extricated a passenger following a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon. The woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance with injuries that weren't considered serious after members of Hawthorne Rescue Co. 5 got her out of a KIA SUV that was rammed by a Jeep Grand Cherokee at the corner of Utter and Lincoln avenues. Head-On DWI Crash Off Route 208: One Driver Hospitalized, Other Arrested, Fair Lawn Police Say
Police said a driver was under the influence when his car slammed head-on into another Friday morning just off Route 208 in Fair Lawn, authorities said. Witnesses told police that Vadym Yukhno, 58, of Fair Lawn passed several other cars on Maple Avenue coming off the highway ramp toward Glen Rock when his Prius struck a Chevy Malibu in the oncoming lane just shortly after 9 a.m. The driver of the Malibu, a 43-year-old New Haven, CT woman, was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with chest and wrist injuries, Sgt. Goethals Bridge Jumper Airlifted After Being Found By Tug Boat Crew In Water
A man who leapt from the Goethals Bridge was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition Thursday, sources told Daily Voice. A tug boat crew apparently spotted the man in the water under the bridge, and brought him to Front Street in Elizabeth after the 12:12 p.m. incident, sources said. The man was airlifted to Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. It was not clear how long the male had been in the water. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

State Police Seek Pickup Truck Driver Who Caused Rt. 22 Crash That Injured Woman, 2 Children
State Police are seeking the driver of a red pickup truck that injured two children and an adult in an early morning hit-and-run on Route 22. The driver of an older model red Chevrolet Silverado cut off a Subaru Forrester on Rt. 22 westbound at Rt. 512 in Hanover Township around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, PA State Trooper Nathan Branosky told Daily Voice. The Forrester then struck the center median in a rollover crash, Branosky said. Thousands Rally To Reopen Investigation Of Deadly PA State Police Shooting Of Christian Hall
A petition to reopen the investigation of the Pennsylvania State Police shooting that killed 19-year-old Christian Hall on Route 80 last year has garnered thousands of supporters. The petition was posted to the website of civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who has been representing George Floyd's family, and had 124,000 of 150,000 signatures as of Feb. 19. State Police maintain that Hall was refusing to drop his weapon then pointed it toward officers on a Route 80 overpass in Monroe County on Dec. 30, 2020. A 17-year-old Wood-Ridge boy was behind the wheel of a speeding sedan that side-swiped a borough police cruiser and kept going, authorities said Saturday. UPDATE: Firefighters doused a late-night commercial blaze in Wallington. The smoky, two-alarm fire broke out at a scaffolding company on Midland Avenue shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
