Atlantic City has a police officer assigned to each school in its district, officials said. The city's government, police department, and school district agreed to put an officer in each K-8 school and two officers in Atlantic City High School throughout the 2024-25 academic year, the city said in a news release. Teaneck police seized four out-of-town teens -- one of them an underage boy who they said was carrying a loaded gun, a high-capacity magazine and hollow-point bullets -- after flooding local streets following a 14-vehicle burglary spree. A woman was attacked and a cat killed by a pair of "aggressive" dogs that are continually on the loose around the Lehigh Valley area, police say. Police in one New Jersey town are urging parents to talk to their teenagers participating in a town-wide game of assassins. Outdoor Temps Nearly Hit 100 As Firefighters Battle Passaic House Blaze
Firefighters endured stifling heat while battling a blaze that ravaged a Passaic home. The four-alarm fire broke out around 5:30 p.m. Saturday on the upper level of the three-story Howard Avenue home in a Jewish Orthodox neighborhood at the corner of Dakota Avenue.
