Two women were found guilty of child endangerment charges stemming from an incident in which an 8-year-old boy was found locked in a room in "abhorrent" conditions, authorities in Ocean County said.
After a week-long jury trial before the Superior Court Judge Lisa A. Puglisi, the jury concluded beyond a reasonable doubt that Donna Jung, 57, of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Helecia Morris, 41, of Brick Township, abused and neglected a minor in their care, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A 69-year-old babysitter was caught on camera punching and beating a crying 14-month-old infant in Wallington, authorities confirmed, and now an anguished father is warning other parents.
Barbara Skrzypczynska had taken the baby for a walk when the authorities were called early Tuesday, May 23, Wallington Police Chief Carmello J. Imbruglia said.
They were headed toward her own home in the nearby Mount Pleasant Village Apartments when Officer Richard Ray found them, he said.

Man, 57, Sexually Assaulted Child For Years At Warren County Home, Prosecutor Says
A Warren County man has been charged in connection to a series of sexual assaults on a girl spanning five years, authorities said.
Mark Van Grouw, 57, “engaged the victim in multiple sexual acts” between 1990 and 1995 at his home in Blairstown, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a joint release Friday.
The abuse began when the victim was 10 years old, Pfeiffer added.
Van Grouw, of Dutch Hill Road, was charged with two counts each of first-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, as well as four counts of second-degree sexual assault.
