Storm Knocks Power To Thousands In North Jersey Thousands of residents in northern New Jersey were without power as of Tuesday, Feb. 13 amid the snow storm that dropped several inches on the region. The JCP&L outage map shows 2,390 had no power in Warren County, mainly in Harmony Twp., Lopatcong, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, and White Township as of 11:35 a.m. In Somerset County, nearly 900 residents had no power, mostly in Branchburg (790). Nearly 1,500 Hunterdon County residents were also in the dark. Those residents without power are mainly residents of Clinton, Holland, Lebanon, and Readington. Restoration times varied.

Arson Units Probe Morris County House Fire Arson units are investigating a fire that ravaged a Morris County home late Tuesday night. The fire was spotted by a Chester Township patrol officer at 25 Lamerson Rd. in Chester Township just before 10:45 p.m., police said. The blaze was extinguished by the Chester Township Volunteer Fire Department with help from fire companies in Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills, Bernardsville, Liberty Corner, Pottersville, New Vernon, Ralston, Mendham Borough, Brookside, Fairmount, Flanders, Budd Lake and Randolph, police said. 'Ask To See Their Permit,' Police Warn After Nabbing Paving Solicitor, Scammer In Morris County A man police say pretended to work for an asphalt company to solicit and scam residents in Morris County was charged after a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon, police said. The man — whose identity was not released — was stopped on Colby Farm Road for several violations around 12:30 p.m., Chester Police said. During the stop, the officer “confirmed that he was the same individual from last summer who was issued a summons for soliciting without a permit,” police said.
