A Mercer County man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a jewelry store in Morris County, authorities said. Jerome B. Howard of Lawrenceville also is a suspect in an earlier break-in at a jewelry store in Chatham, Madison police said. His age was not released. The men tried to break into a home on Westminster Road in Chatham Township through a rear window around 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 — but were thwarted by the home’s burglar alarm, local police said. Car Nearly Stolen From Morris County Driveway Before Suspect Flees In Audi, Police Say
A suspect fled in an Audi after trying and failing to steal a car from a driveway in Morris County Wednesday evening, authorities said. The suspect attempted to steal the vehicle from a driveway on Robert Drive in Chatham Township around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, local police said. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled in a white Audi, authorities said. “Please remember to always lock your vehicle and remove all valuables and Key FOBS,” said Chatham Township police. Police: Cyclist Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Morris County
A cyclist was struck by a driver that fled the scene in Morris County Friday morning, police said. The cyclist was hit by a black Ford F150 that left the scene near Southern Blvd. and Lafayette Avenue in Chatham Township around 11:25 a.m., initial reports said. The victim was treated for minor injuries by the Chatham Emergency Squad and refused further medical attention, Police Chief Thomas Miller told Daily Voice. Police Rescue Unconscious Morris County Man Who Crashed Into Mailbox During Medical Episode
Police in Chatham rescued a man who crashed into a mailbox due a medical episode Wednesday evening, authorities said. Officers observed a vehicle that hit a mailbox on Rockledge Trail around 5:15 p.m., Chatham Township Police Chief Thomas Miller told Daily Voice. Officers tried to contact the driver — a 68-year-old Madison man — but broke a window and removed him after seeing him slumped over and unresponsive due to a medical episode, Miller said.
