Feds Charge NJ Amtrak Employee With Stealing, Fencing Chainsaws, Parts
Federal agents arrested an Amtrak employee from the Jersey Shore who they said stole chainsaws and part and sold them online. Working as a senior engineer and repairman at the rail service’s North Brunswick facility, Jose Rodriguez clipped 77 chainsaws, 103 bars, and 163 chains with a combined value of well over $50,000 between August 2016 and July 2020, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Police: Bergenfield ID Thieves Claim More Than 50 Victims
A pair of ID thieves from Bergenfield stole thousands of dollars from the bank accounts of more than 50 victims, authorities said Tuesday. Borough police worked with members of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Secret Service and police in Brick and Absecon to crack the case. It began last August, when one of the victims told borough police that someone had opened several accounts in her name and accumulated outstanding balances on them, Detective Lt. William Duran said. A convicted Jersey Shore child porn collector was caught doing it again, federal authorities said Monday. Andrew Ramey, 34, of Brick, began trafficking images of "child sexual abuse and child pornography" via the BitTorrent Network in March, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said Monday. A swimmer whose body was pulled from a Jersey Shore beach Wednesday died, authorities said Thursday. Three Point Pleasant police officers responding to reports of a swimmer in distress pulled the victim from the water on Jenkinson's Beach at Arnold Avenue around 11:40 a.m., Police Chief Joseph A.
