Unlicensed Driver, 25, Wanted In Deadly Fourth Of July Crash On Route 287: Prosecutor A 25-year-old New York woman has been named "Fugitive of the Month" in one New Jersey county. Angely Betancourt has been charged with reckless death by auto and causing death while driving unlicensed in the July 4, 2022 crash that left one person dead on Route 287 southbound access ramp to Route 78 west in Bedminster, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The crash, which happened just before 12:25 p.m., was investigated by New Jersey State Police. The department did not immediately return Daily Voice's request for comment.

Driver Airlifted When Tractor Trailer Overturns On Route 78 The driver of a tractor trailer was airlifted to the hospital after he lost control of his tractor trailer overturned on Route 78 earlier this week. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle on the westbound side near milepost 28.5 in Bedminster around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Despite suffering only minor injuries, the driver was flown to Morristown Medical Center, Curry said. The right and center lanes of the highway were closed for five hours. The truck overturned near milepost 29.8 between Lebanon and Bedminster, causing the tires and debris inside to spill onto the road shortly before 6:30 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. The driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Peele said. All lanes were re-opened around 9:30 a.m., Peele said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
