NJ Daughter Who Used Broomstick To Fatally Beat Mom Was Acting In Self-Defense: Report
An 80-year-old woman told police her 65-year-old daughter from South Jersey beat her with a broomstick three days before she died of her injuries in the attack, NJ Advance Media reports. The alleged assailant's defense attorney, though, says she was acting in self-defense. Florence Dicriscio told officers arriving at the Woodmont Circle in Washington Township on Aug. 6 that Loretta A. Police: Missing Lehigh Valley Woman With Alzheimer’s, 67, Found Dead In Snowbank
A 67-year-old Lehigh Valley woman who left home during Sunday night’s storm was found dead in a snowbank hours later, police said. Patricia Becker, who police say suffered from Alzheimer’s, walked away from her home on North Lumber Street in Allentown around 4:20 a.m. Monday, authorities said. A local resident later found Becker’s body in a snowbank, police said. The death does not appear suspicious, authorities said. Additional details were not immediately released.

A 78-year-old Passaic woman with Alzheimer’s who went missing in the morning was found Wednesday night in Garfield, police said. Gloria Rivera left her Quincy Street residence around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday through the rear yard (see image above, right), city police said. She turned up about 12 hours later, they said. 'Lifesaver' Helps Bergen Sheriff's Officers Find Missing Teaneck Man, 70, With Dementia
A 70-year-old Teaneck man with dementia who wandered from home was found by Bergen County sheriff's officers thanks to a Project Lifesaver wristband transmitter. BCSO Officers Patrick Doyle and Joseph LaBarbera found the man about a mile from home Tuesday night, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton said. “Utilizing the technology from Project Lifesaver, our responding officers were able to quickly track, locate, and return the missing individual to his home," Cureton said.
