SUV Launched Onto Ridgewood Lawn In Crash, 1 Hospitalized One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash that sent an SUV careening onto a lawn in Ridgewood on Wednesday morning, Nov. 20. The collision, which occurred near a residential and commercial structure at South Maple Avenue and Dayton Street, left one victim with a non-life-threatening back and neck injury. SUV Goes Airborne, Lands On Parked Sedan In Fair Lawn Mishap A wild parking mishap left a black SUV perched on top of an unoccupied blue sedan in Fair Lawn Saturday afternoon, Nov. 16, incident reporter Boyd A. Loving said from the scene. Fair Lawn police were flooded with 911 calls around 4 p.m., reporting the bizarre crash on Langan Court. The SUV was attempting to park when it suddenly went airborne, landing squarely on top of the parked sedan. ID Of Tow Truck Operator Killed By Passing Car On Route 19 Released A tow truck operator was killed by a passing vehicle on Route 19 over the weekend, authorities said. Manuel Perez, 64, was trying to hook another vehicle to his truck on the southbound side of the highway when he was struck by a Toyota sedan that then struck the tow truck and overturned around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at milepost 2-3,  Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. Perez was pronounced dead and the driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This investigation is active and ongoing. Prius Crashes Through Fence Behind Japanese Ridgewood Restaurant Firefighters were called to Ridgewood on Friday evening, Sept. 13 where a black Toyota Prius crashed through a chain link fence, over a retaining wall, and into the back of a restaurant, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving. No injuries were reported in the incident, which left little to no damage to the building itself, Loving said. The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. behind Sakura Bana at 43 Franklin Ave., according to Loving.
