Paramus police have identified the victim struck and killed on Route 17 over the weekend.
Demaris D. Martinez, 28, of Hillsdale, was struck by a car then run over by a tractor-trailer around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. She was identified by Detective Nicholas Luciano.
Martinez's social media channels show she was an influencer, with more than 3.4K subscribers on YouTube and more than 14.9K followers on TikTok.

Loaded Gun, High-Capacity Magazine Found On Unlicensed Route 17 Driver, Police Say
A motorist from North Carolina was found with a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine during a routine motor vehicle stop on Route 17 in Paramus this week, police said.
Officer Cesar Hurtado stopped a gray 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe heading north near the Garden State Parkway for a traffic violation around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
A registration check revealed that the registered owner had a revoked driving privilege, Guidetti said.

A 32-year-old New York man is facing charges in Paramus, NJ for pretending he was held at knifepoint in one location when, in fact, he was burglarizing another, police said.
Officers were called to the Dunkin parking lot at 492 Route 17 North on Sunday, Sept. 1 where Jonathan Gardner, of Canastota, NY, had told authorities he was being held at knifepoint and suffered a slash to his arm while defending himself from an attacker, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.

A 38-year-old man is in custody following an hours long stand-off with police in Paramus overnight, authorities said.
Jerry Green of Newark, broke into a Juniper Lane home where his girlfriend and her young children ages 8, 6, 10, and 14 were staying around 1 a.m., Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
Armed with a stick, Green began wreaking havoc inside the home, ripping a cable box off the television, Guidetti said. The woman and her children managed to flee the house and called 911.

Missing Paramus Mom Found, Details Remain Vague
After a search that surpassed 24 hours, Paramus resident Heather Mashini has been found.
The 39-year-old Mashini was found Saturday night, Aug. 3, more than a day after she'd been reported missing, Paramus police said.
Police did not disclose Mashini's condition, nor did they say where she was found.
Mashini had last been seen on Friday, Aug. 2 around 1:30 p.m., police said, who did not release her condition.
