Sparta's Tristan Lozada Dies After Battle With Brain Cancer, 8 Tristan Lozada, an 8-year-old Sparta resident died after battling brain cancer on Monday, Oct. 28, according to his obituary from the Shook Funeral Home website. Tristan had moved to Sparta from Newark and enjoyed dancing, Halloween, and playing Roblox on his iPad, his obituary reads. He is survived by his parents, James and Monica,  his brother James and his grandparents Mercede, Luzmila and Victor, according to his obituary. BMW Hits Bicyclist Off Route 3 In Rutherford, Police Say A bicyclist was hospitalized with a back and arm injury after being struck by a BMW on a Rutherford roadway off of Route 3 Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, police said. the 2015 BMW M23, operated by a 30-year-old North Arlington man, was on the Route 3 west ramp and entering Thomas E. Dunn Memorial Highway when he struck the 58-year-old Lyndhurst bicyclist, who was heading east on the Thomas E. Dunn Memorial Highway around 7 p.m., Rutherford Police Lt. Craig Capoano said.
