Racing BMW Driver, 20, Crashes, Injures Young Family On Route 3: Police
A BMW driver is facing multiple charges after crashing and injuring a family of four on Route 3 on Thursday, Oct. 3, authorities said. Hamza M. Abdelaziz, 20, of Clifton, was racing in a 2023 black BMW 540 when he struck the Fair Lawn family's vehicle on the Berry’s Creek Bridge in the eastbound lanes in Rutherford, just prior to the East Rutherford border around 1:10 p.m., Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said. A lottery ticket good for just over $1.7 million was sold at a Passaic County 7-Eleven. The ticket from the Wednesday, Sept. 11 Jersey Cash 5 drawing was sold at the convenience store at 218 Pompton Turnpike in Little Falls. The prize was $1,704,450. The winning numbers were: 09, 13, 18, 36 and 44 and the XTRA number was: 02. The Bullseye number was 09. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for the winning ticket sold.

Justin Hoyt, Passaic County Native, Dies, 26
Passaic County native Justin Hoyt died on Tuesday, Aug. 27, his obituary on the Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home website says. He was 26 years old. A Woodland Park native, Justin also lived in Little Falls but had moved to California two years ago to bettering himself and "working with those suffering from addiction, helping others on their journey," his obituary says. Boil Water Advisory Issued In Parts Of Passaic County Amid Water Main Break
American Water has issued a boil water advisory across parts of Passaic County. The advisory was issued Thursday, Aug. 15 at noon to American Water customers across Little Falls and Woodland Park. The advisory was the result of emergency repairs to a water main break on Notchcroft Drive in the Great Notch area of Little Falls. Any water to used for drinking or cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. Water is okay for bathing, washing, and other common uses. Residents will be notified when the advisory is lifted, which American Water says will be around…
