Flames Shoot From Roof Of Clifton Home A fire ripped through the roof of a Clifton home early Monday, Aug. 26. Photos from the scene show flames blowing through the roof of the Madeline Avenue house around 2 a.m. Clifton units operated at an early morning structure fire on the east side of the city, shortly after 2 AM. The fire was placed under control within 2 hours with the help of mutual aid from surrounding towns. Route 3 Crash With Explosions Kills Tractor-Trailer Driver In Clifton (Update) A Linden man was killed when his tractor-trailer crashed and exploded in Clifton, authorities said. The truck crashed into a barrier and caught fire on Route 3 West near Valley Road and Grove Street at around 9:07 a.m. on Monday, July 22, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes said in a news release. The 55-year-old man's body was found after Clifton firefighters put out the flames.
