Careless Bus Driver Strikes 13-Year-Old Girl, Father: Police A 13-year-old girl and her father were hospitalized after being struck by a bus in Rahway on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 10, authorities said. At 8:23 p.m., the two were crossing the intersection when they were struck by the NJ Transit bus, which was turning from Elizabeth Avenue onto West Scott Avenue, Rahway police said.  The 13-year-old sustained head pain and a severe leg injury, requiring a tourniquet to address the injury. Six-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle: Linden PD A six-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle in Linden on Friday, May 24, authorities said. The girl was struck while crossing W. St. George Avenue, Linden police said in a release. She was transported to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported, police said. W. St. George Avenue was closed westbound at N. Stiles Street for two hours following the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.

Jersey City Police Cruiser, Civilian Vehicle Damaged, Multiple Victims Injured In Crash Two Jersey City police officers and at least one civilian were injured in a crash that sent a cruiser into a fire hydrant. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Stegman Street at 11:15 a.m. Friday, May 17, according to Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione. It wasn't the result of a pursuit, she emphasized. Victims said the collision triggered the police car's airbags. The victims were taken to Jersey City Medical Center with what responders said were all minor injuries. An investigation into the cause was continuing.
