Police are attempting to locate three men following multiple gunpoint robberies committed in Newark last month.
On Monday, Nov. 11 at 6:45 a.m., a man walking southbound on McWhorter Street near Ferry Street was approached by a man who exited a red Hyundai Sonata and demanded his belongings at gunpoint, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The suspect stole the victim’s backpack, containing his wallet, a bank card, cash, and a cell phone before returning to the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, Miranda said.

A 26-year-old New Jersey man was arrested and charged after a two-car crash turned into an attempted carjacking on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, authorities said.
A car with two men, including Frederick Antonio Castillo, crashed into another car, the New York Daily News reported, citing a source with Port Authority police. Castillo and the other man ran over to the woman's car and tried to open the doors, but she locked them, the Daily News said.

Support is on the rise for an 18-year-old North Jersey high school soccer captain who sustained multiple broken bones in a crash last month.
Molly Mack, the captain of the Whippany High School girls team, was identified by the team's booster club as the person seriously injured in the Sunday, Oct. 27 crash between two SUVs on Route 24 in Florham Park, as previously reported by Daily Voice.

The next of kin for a New Jersey man who recently was found dead is being searched for by the Lehigh County Coroners Office according to a release on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Vyacheslav Chornyy, 56, of Hackettstown, NJ, was found dead inside his vehicle parked in the 6000 block of Warden Road, Lowhill Township, Lehigh County, PA, the coroner detailed in the release.
"The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation," the coroner wrote noting that, "There are no suspicious circumstances in this investigation."

A 58-year-old New Jersey attorney and lobbyist was killed in Nashville, TN on Saturday, Oct. 19 after he was struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
Michael O'Connell, of Belmar, was crossing the street with the walk light when he was struck by 2009 Dodge pickup truck attempting to make a left turn, Nashville police said in a release. The driver, Joey Nixon, 36, had a green light but failed to yield to the pedestrian, police said. O’Connell died at the scene, police said.

A BMW driver is facing multiple charges after crashing and injuring a family of four on Route 3 on Thursday, Oct. 3, authorities said.
Hamza M. Abdelaziz, 20, of Clifton, was racing in a 2023 black BMW 540 when he struck the Fair Lawn family's vehicle on the Berry’s Creek Bridge in the eastbound lanes in Rutherford, just prior to the East Rutherford border around 1:10 p.m., Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said.
