Big Lots To Shut These New Jersey Stores: Closing Sales Under Way Big Lots! has announced the closures of even more locations since filing for bankruptcy in September. The company announced on Monday, Sept. 9 that it will sell its assets to an affiliate of private equity firm Nexus Capital Management. Additional closures were approved this month in bankruptcy court.  New Jersey has 27 stores, and 13 of them are set to close with closing sales underway. A state grand jury voted to not file any charges related to the death of 30-year-old Daniel King, the state Office of the Attorney General said in a news release on Monday, Oct. 1. King died more than 24 hours after he was arrested in Fairfield Township. Investigators said Trooper Mark Allonardo responded to a home on Fordville Road at around 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023. King had requested a police escort to retrieve property at the home.…

Police ID Three 20-Somethings Killed In High-Speed South Jersey BMW Crash Three people in their 20s were killed in a South Jersey crash early Saturday, Aug. 17, police said. A 2006 BMW operated by Ian P. Rodriguez, of Millville, was heading west on Mayslanding Road at a high rate of speed when it suddenly left the roadway to the right on the approach of Panther Road around 8:25 a.m., Vineland Sgt. N. Dounoulis said. The vehicle struck a utility pole, lost control, and overturned while striking an irrigation winch located on the farm field on the northwest corner of the intersection, Dounoulis said.
