Toyota Recalling 43K Hybrid Vehicles Due To Faulty Tow Hitch Covers
Tens of thousands of Toyota SUVs are subject to a sizeable recall due to a faulty tow hitch cover that may increase the possibility of a crash, officials say. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced a recall of approximately 43,400 Toyota Sequoia Hybrids that may have tow hitch covers that can detach from the bumper and fall into the roadway, causing a hazard for other drivers. Passenger Jumps Out Of Moving SUV On NJ Turnpike In Bergen County: Police
One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after plunging out of a moving vehicle along the New Jersey Turnpike, police said. A Hyundai SUV was traveling north on the western spur in East Rutherford at milepost 113.2 around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 when the front seat passenger jumped from the moving car, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The passenger struck the pavement and sustained serious injuries. No further information was provided.

An occupant was ejected when one SUV hit a house and another a utility pole in a fierce collision in Maywood, authorities said. Police are investigating a crash at a busy Westwood intersection that knocked an SUV onto its roof. No serious injuries were immediately reported when a Dodge RAM pickup truck t-boned a GMC Yukon at the corner of Broadway and Irvington Street, next to the NJ Transit tracks, shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15.
