NJ Man Gets Five Years For Possessing Ghost Guns: Morris County Prosecutor A 34-year old Warren County man was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, Sept. 13 after pleading guilty to possessing ghost guns, authorities said. Joseph Palumbo Jr., a Columbia resident, carried out the illegal manufacture and sale of ghost guns between December 2023 and February 2024, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood said. He was originally apprehended in February during a traffic shop. Palumbo Jr. sold the guns, the majority of which were assault firearms, in Morris and Warren Counties, authorities said. Phillipsburg Man Used 3D Printer To Manufacture Handgun, Ammo: Prosecutor A 40-year-old Phillipsburg man is facing charges for using a 3D printer to manufacture a firearm and ammunition, authorities said.  A search of Michael Weaver's home on Monday, Aug. 26, turned up two 3D printers, a 9mm handgun, thousands of rounds of multi-caliber ammunition, and equipment to manufacture such ammunition, Acting Warren County Prosecutor Anthony Picione said. Weaver has been charged with manufacturing a firearm using a 3D printer; unlawful possession of a weapon; and certain person not to have a weapon or ammunition.

France-Bound Passenger Found With Loaded Magazine, Handgun At Newark Airport: TSA A Westchester County, NY man traveling to France was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport on Tuesday, Aug. 6 after he had a gun and ammunition in his carry-on bag, authorities said. The man had a ticket to Nice, France and was arrested by Port Authority Police at Terminal B after his handgun was flagged in the checkpoint X-ray machine, the Transportation Security Administration said.  He also had a magazine loaded with five bullets, the TSA said. The federal penalty for bringing a weapon to a TSA checkpoint can cost as much as $15,000.
