West Nile, EEE Detected In Eight Mosquito Groups In South Jersey Cape May County leaders are issuing a warning after eight mosquito groups tested positive for West Nile virus and eastern equine encephalitis. Seven mosquito collections tested positive for West Nile and EEE was detected in another during June and July, the Cape May County Department of Health said in a news release on Monday, July 22. No human cases of either virus have been reported. The West Nile-positive mosquitoes were found in Cape May, Lower Township, Upper Township, and Woodbine. School Bus Carrying Students Bursts Into Flames On Garden State Parkway Ten students and their bus driver were uninjured when their school bus burst into flames on the Garden State Parkway in Cape May County Wednesday, April 17, firefighters said. Firefighters and EMS units were dispatched to mile marker 20.8 south in Upper Township around 2:30 where the bus had erupted in flames, according to Seaville Fire Rescue. Heavy flames were shooting out of the bus when responders arrived, and all 10 students and the bus driver had already safely exited.
