A 45-year-old Middlesex County man has been arrested and charged with sex crimes against two children, authorities announced. The 73-year-old woman killed in an explosion at a New Jersey manufacturing plant is being remembered in her obituary as a longtime employee, avid pool player, and great-grandmother. A two-day search for a man wanted by federal authorities in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot has surrendered, police said. Gregory Yetman, of Helmetta, turned himself in to authorities, Jamesburg police said on Friday, Nov. 10. Yetman fled into the woods at approximately 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, after authorities tried to serve him with a federal arrest warrant on Main Street in Helmetta, Jamesburg police said. Schools in Jamesburg and Spotswood were put in a shelter-in-place. It wasn't immediately clear which charges he is facing.

Witten Steigerwald, 18 months, was found in a pool in Spotswood and wasn't breathing around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, officials in Middlesex County said. Jersey Shore Gun Club Treasurer Stole $4K From Organization: Prosecutor
The treasurer of a Jersey Shore gun club was arrested on accusations he stole about $4,000 from the organization, authorities announced. Michael D. Weber, 64, of Spotswood, stole the funds from the Plumstead-based Lakeside Rod and Gun Club in his role as treasurer between July 2017 and January 2021, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. Weber was responsible for collecting and depositing the club’s membership dues and paying the club’s expenses. A bright green fireball lit up the sky on Wednesday night -- just after SpaceX's Crew-3 liftoff, Space.com reports. Nearly 500 people including some from New Jersey and Pennsylvania reported the fireball to the American Meteor Society. The Taurid fireball was visible at 9:12 EST on Nov. 10, just nine minutes after the SpaceX liftoff, the AMS said. A COVID-19 outbreak traced to a Central Jersey high school's Homecoming Dance has sent about 200 students into isolation. A 10-day quarantine was ordered for Spotswood High School students who attended the Saturday's homecoming dance after a student at the event tested positive, NJ Advance Media reported. A Monmouth County community is mourning the tragic deaths of two 20-year-old residents killed in a crash Saturday in Manalapan. Marlboro police released the name of the driver who died on Monday after her car toppled a telephone pole and collided with a parked U-Haul truck. Donna Piegaro, 53, of Spotswood was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which closed Route 9 southbound for more than nine hours from Old Bridge to Manalapan Township, a Marlboro police spokesman said.
