The teenager was hit on the westbound side of Route 38 at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14 as he tried to cross the highway near milepost 19.1 in Southampton, New Jersey State Police said. Emergency workers brought the 14-year-old to an area hospital where he died on Sunday, June 16, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman. The boy was struck by a Dodge around 6:35 p.m. on Route 38 at milepost 19.1 in Southampton, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. The boy was rushed to an area hospital and no other injuries were reported.

Pedestrian Killed Crossing Burlington County Street A 63-year-old man from South Jersey was killed by a car as he tried to cross an intersection, authorities said. Forrest Honeycutt, 63, was struck while crossing Route 38 from Pine Street shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday, Mount Holly police said. The car's driver stayed at the scene of the crash, police said. An investigation is continuing. The death was the first traffic fatality in Mount Holly this year and the seventh for all of Burlington County, according to reports.
