Inmate Jailed For South Jersey Killing Dies An 81-year-old South Jersey man sentenced to 12 years in state prison in December for killing his wife has died, a state prison spokeswoman said. Stanley C. Wilson of Glassboro died on Feb. 23 at Cooper University Hospital, where he was transferred from South Woods State Prison after an illness, according to Amy Quinn of the New Jersey Department of Corrections. Wilson was indicted for first-degree murder in the 2020 killing of his wife, Sarah Wilson, 76, who died of blunt force trauma to the chest. Inmate Dies Of Suicide At Cumberland County Jail, Authorities Say An inmate in the Cumberland County Jail died of suicide earlier this week, authorities said. The 54-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, according to a release from the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office. Officers and medical staff responded and attempted life saving measures with negative results. An exact cause of death was pending autopsy results.  Notification was made to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office with detectives responding. Simultaneous notification was made to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. …

Serial Killer From Trenton Dies In State Prison: 'A Down Elevator Awaits Him' A notorious killer from Trenton, convicted of killing people outside -- as well as inside state prison -- died behind walls on Tuesday, authorities said. Ambrose Harris, who murdered a young artist in the state capital 28 years ago, and then killed a fellow inmate while on Death Row, was 68 years old. The state Department of Corrections confirmed Harris' death, but did not disclose a cause. Harris had been incarcerated at New Jersey State Prison in Trenton since 1994.
