UPDATE: A member of a second-story crew who targeted Asian and Asian-American homeowners in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware for burglaries was sentenced to a plea-bargained four years and two months in federal prison, authorities said.
Randi Barr, 42, of Union County, NJ, was part of a group that worked from a hit list of dozens of homes based on “stereotype and opportunity,” federal authorities said.

PA Employee Embezzled $1.2 Million From Furniture Store, DA Says
A high-ranking employee at a Pennsylvania furniture business is accused of embezzling more than $1 million from the company, authorities say.
Linda Mansi, 53, of Tuckerton, New Jersey, is charged with multiple felonies from Arnold Office Furniture and Sunline Supply in Bridgeport, said Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele's Office in a release Friday, July 28.
Jay and Jordan Berkowitz, the owners of the stores, approached police in February about a "significant theft" from the company's coffers, the DA said.

Severe Weather Watch Issued As Thunderstorms Threaten Region, More Sweltering Heat Ahead
A severe weather watch was issued by the National Weather Service across much of the region Thursday, July 27.
As temps hovered around 95 degrees, thunderstorms were taking aim across parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia.
