Water Restrictions Issued Across These Jersey Shore Counties
Customers in two counties were asked to conserve water as crews made emergency repairs at a treatment plant, officials said. New Jersey American Water issued a mandatory outdoor water conservation restriction for customers in Monmouth and Ocean counties, the company said in a news release on Sunday, July 14. The order was expected to last for 48 hours. The company said crews will fix a 36-inch valve at its Jumping Brook Water Treatment Plant in Neptune. $8.5M Project Will Upgrade Water Infrastructure In Central Jersey Borough
A Monmouth County borough will get $8.5 million in upgrades to its water systems, officials said. New Jersey American Water will replace about 4,900 feet of water main in Tinton Falls, the company said in a news release on Tuesday, July 9. The project will upgrade the 30-inch transmission main installed as old as the 1970s with a new 30-inch ductile iron main. Treatment Plan Could Change Taste Of Drinking Water In Some NJ Towns
You may notice a slight taste or smell of chlorine in your drinking water during the next few months. That's due to a maintenance program undertaken annually by New Jersey American Water. A chemical spill into the Delaware River last week did not impact New Jersey's treated water, however, New Jersey American Water is taking some precautions.
