Exposure To Coronavirus-Positive Holy Name Hospital CEO Forces Tedesco To Self-Quarantine
Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco self-quarantined on Tuesday, nine days after hosting a news conference in Teaneck with, among others, Holy Name Medical Center CEO Michael Maron, who tested positive for COVID-19. That means a number of people who also attended the March 15 event -- among them, elected and appointed officials, their staff members and reporters -- may need to do so, too. Bergen officials will open a new coronavirus test site for Bergen County residents only with priority given to first responders and health care workers, County Executive Jim Tedesco announced Tuesday. The site will begin operating this weekend and will be controlled by the county, in an effort to satisfy the huge demand for tests, he said. Beloved Holy Name Caterer Killed By Coronavirus
A beloved Holy Name Medical Center food caterer died Monday night of coronavirus complications, hospital officials said. Andres Benitez worked in the hospital's Food & Nutrition Services Department since 2004, said Holy Name President and CEO Michael Maron. "Many of us knew and loved Andres, who was in charge of catering, a job he performed conscientiously and with great attention to detail," he wrote.
