Covid-19: Five States Removed From NY/NJ/CT Quarantine List, One Territory Added
Travelers from five states have been removed from the COVID-19 joint quarantine list of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
This marks the first week since the list was started on Thursday, June 25, when eight states were initially named, that no new states with high COVID positivity testing rates have been added. However, one new territory has been added: Guam.
The five states removed on Tuesday, Aug. 25 are Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Maryland and Montana.
The quarantine applies to any person arriving from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents …

Lord & Taylor will shutter two dozen locations nationwide including three in New Jersey.
After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the nation’s oldest department store announced it will also be closing seven stores in New York, three in Connecticut, two in Massachusetts, two in Illinois and two in Maryland, CNBC reports.
One store each in Florida, Michigan, New Hampshire, Virginia and Pennsylvania will also close.

Covid-19: Travelers From More States, Puerto Rico, DC Added To NY/NJ/CT Quarantine List
Travelers from three more states, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington, DC, with high positive testing rates for COVID-19 have now been added to the joint quarantine order for out-of-state travelers to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The newly added states as of Tuesday, July 28, are Illinois, Kentucky, and Minnesota, bringing the number to 34 states, in addition to Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.

Neiman Marcus Markdown Store Among 17 Closing Across U.S.
Neiman Marcus has announced the closure of four department stores and 17 of its "Last Call" locations across the U.S. including one in Paramus.
The luxury department store chain filed for bankruptcy in May.
The Paramus store at Bergen Town Center, the 16 other markdown stores and the four department stores are expected to close by the fall of this year.
The other "Last Call" locations closing are in New York, Florida, Washington, California, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland and Nevada.

Police: Passenger In Pickup Hidden In Mahwah Woods Had Fully Loaded Pistol On Her Lap
"I have a gun on my lap," an Illinois woman told a Mahwah police officer who found her and a pickup driver parked in an isolated area before dawn near the Rockland County border.
Officer Richard Albro spotted the 1988 GMC C15, with no front license plate, backed into the woods in a corner of Sam Braen Field across from Secor Farms -- barely a half-mile from Ramapo -- just after midnight July 6, authorities said.

Cannabis Edible Sales Surge Amid Coronavirus, Report Says
Here’s a first: More people who are legally buying marijuana products for recreational or medicinal use during the coronavirus pandemic are choosing drinks and edibles over smoke, a study shows.
Comparing sales from March 7-31 to the more than nine weeks before it, “cannabis-infused beverages jumped from 1% of overall sales to 14%, beating ‘flower’ sales, which is unheard of,” marketing firm Headset reports.
Edible sales grew the most, by 28% percent, it says.
Meanwhile, sales of pre-rolls and topicals dropped by 13% each, Headset reports.
Users are clearly stocking up, experts say.
