Garden State Parkway Service Area Renamed After Frank Sinatra The Atlantic Service Area on the Garden State Parkway in Galloway has been renamed in honor of Frank Sinatra, a native of Hoboken, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. The name change became official on Thursday, April 21 when “Frank Sinatra Service Area” signs were installed on the Parkway. Gov. Phil Murphy announced last year that Parkway service areas would be renamed to honor New Jersey Hall of Fame inductees in the arts, entertainment, and sports. Monmouth County Hazmat Team Responds To Propane Leak: Developing Firefighters and a Monmouth County hazardous materials team were called to a serious crash in Central Jersey, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The crash occurred about 1 p.m. Wednesday at South Street and South Holmdel Road in Holmdel, initial reports said. There was a leak in a 100-gallon propane tank as well as a hydraulic fluid spill, according to an unconfirmed report. Stolen Car Catches Fire On Garden State Parkway A stolen car caught fire on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The car was reported stolen out of Little Silver, according to Trooper Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. State troopers found the car on fire at milepost 116.8 northbound in Holmdel at 11:53 a.m. Friday, Marchan said. The car had been abandoned and there was no one close to it. The incident remains under investigation.
