More than a dozen people were arrested in Atlantic City during a recent operation targeting drug dealing and neighborhood crime, authorities said.
There were 14 people arrested in the investigation, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Prompted by complaints from residents and business owners, officers focused on issues reported near Bellevue, Florida, and Texas avenues for more than a month.

A Deptford man will spend several years in prison for selling heroin and cocaine, authorities said.
Javier Osorio, 44, was sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 29 to six years in prison, New Jersey's U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a news release.
According to court documents and statements, Osorio planned to sell cocaine and more than a kilogram of heroin. The drugs were found in his apartment.

A 43-year-old Pleasantville man was arrested on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 6 after being involved in a shooting in Atlantic City in August, authorities said.
At 6:26 a.m., officers observed Juan Maldonado on his bicycle on the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City police said. Maldonado had an active warrant out for his arrest, stemming from a shooting on Saturday, Aug. 17, on the 100 block of north Georgia Avenue that wounded a man, police said. Leroy Clark, 44, of Ewing, was arrested on Friday, Mar. 8, Atlantic City police said in a Wednesday, Mar. 13 news release. An officer saw Clark selling drugs to another man on the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue at around 4:45 p.m.
