18-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Atlantic County Crash: Police An 18-year-old driver from Egg Harbor City was killed in a head-on crash in Hamilton Township, authorities said. Jamyre Dewey Jr. was traveling east on Route 40 at 7:54 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 when his Mitsubishi Galant crossed the center line and crashed into a westbound Toyota Highlander, Hamilton Township police said. Dewey Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, police said. On Thursday, July 20, Carelton Priester was sentenced by Judge Bernard E. DeLury, Jr., to five years of probation for second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun over the State’s objection, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Priester originally pleaded guilty on April 11, the prosecutor said. Motorist Killed After Flipping, Striking Sign In I-295 Crash An unidentified driver was killed in a single-car crash after veering off Interstate 295 in Mercer County,  authorities said. The crash occurred about 11:52 p.m. on I-295 North in the area of milepost 63.1 in Hamilton Township, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan. The Mercedes-Benz ran off the highway to the right, overturned and struck a support for a sign, Marchan said. The driver, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was fatally injured, he said. The crash remains under investigation.
