Lucky Friday The 13th: South Jersey Ticket Hits $678K Jackpot, Lotto Officials Say
For one Gloucester County lottery player, Friday the 13th turned out to be anything but unlucky.
A winning ticket hit the $678,674 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Monday, Dec. 16. The winner matched all five numbers in the drawing on Friday, Dec. 13, and was sold at Township Liquors on Route 42 in Turnersville.
The winning numbers were 3, 12, 18, 19, and 25. The XTRA number was 2 and the Bullseye number was 03.

As President Joe Biden cruised to victory in New Jersey in the 2020 presidential election, he got some help from two counties that went his way after voting for former President Donald Trump in 2016: Morris and Gloucester.
Morris County went to Biden, 51.14% to 46.90%, 153,881 votes to 141,134 votes. It was a remarkable turnaround for a county that hadn't voted Democrat at the presidential level since Lyndon Johnson defeated Barry Goldwater in 1964.
In 2016, Morris County voted for Trump, who defeated Clinton 126,071 votes to 115,249 votes, 49.72% to 45.46%.

Tornado Watch Shifts, Now Covers These Counties Across NJ, PA As Debby Creeps In
The National Weather Service has shifted its tornado watch across New Jersey and Pennsylvania as Hurricane Debby creeps in.
In New Jersey, the tornado watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and covers Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties in North Jersey.
In Pennsylvania, the tornado watch is issued in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, and Bucks counties.
The tornado threat for South Jersey has diminished since the initial watch was issued early Friday morning, which has since been canceled.

Contractor Conned Woman Out Of $341K In Home Repairs He Never Did In South Jersey: Prosecutor
A 32-year-old man from Gloucester County is accused of defrauding an elderly woman out of $341,000 in home repairs he never did, authorities said.
On Tuesday, July 23, Christopher Fuscellaro of Mantua Township was arrested and charged with theft, theft by deception and being an unlicensed contractor, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.
Between Sept. 7, 2022, and Nov. 16, 2023, Fuscellaro portrayed himself as a licensed contractor in Washington Township "and utilized various means of fraud and deception to defraud the elderly victim," the prosecutor said.
