A scratch-off lottery ticket worth $1 million was purchased at a convenience store in Mercer County, officials said. The $1,000,000 Platinum Payout scratch-off was sold at the Wawa on Flock Road in Trenton, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release on Monday, Oct. 28. Each ticket costs $20 and the $1 million prize is the game's largest. The winner was bought at the gas station near the intersection with Quakerbridge Road on Thursday, Oct. 24. Salem County Woman, 81, Killed In Collision With Tractor-Trailer
An 81-year-old woman from Salem County was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer, authorities said. The crash occurred at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 in the intersection of Route 40 and Route 677 in Upper Pittsgrove, according to New Jersey State Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Cadillac XTS was traveling north on Route 677 (Burlington Road). An International 760 was traveling east on Route 40. A 24-year-old commercial airlines pilot and his dad were identified as the victims killed in a small plane crash in South Jersey Monday, Sept. 19.
