Berks County Boy, 10, Shot, Killed During Target Practice, DA Says
A 10-year-old Berks County boy was shot and killed during target practice on Thanksgiving Day, authorities said. Responders carried the boy out of the woods to an ambulance after he was shot near his home about 100 feet off Chestnut Street in Hereford Township around 1:30 p.m., they said. He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest near Allentown, where he was pronounced dead. Boy Shot In Hamilton, Gunman At Large, Police Say
A boy was shot in Hamilton over the weekend, and the gunman remains at large, police said. Officers responding to a shooting report near Greenwood Avenue and Connecticut Avenue found a boy with a gunshot wound in his upper left leg just before 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Hamilton Police Chief James M. Mom Jumps Into Sewage-Filled Manhole To Save Toddler At NJ Playground, Report Says
A fast-acting mom rescued her 14-month-old son after he fell into a manhole at a North Jersey park on Thursday morning. The mom noticed her child went missing while at the Kawameeh Park in Union around 10:45 a.m., ABC7 reports. She soon found him chin-deep inside of a manhole 7 feet deep, filled with nearly two feet of sewage, the outlet says. 8-Year-Old NJ Girl Critical After Falling Into Retention Pond
An 8-year-old girl was in critical condition after falling into a retention pond near her home Thursday afternoon in Burlington County, authorities said. Crews resuscitated the girl after finding her in a body near the 100 block of Colemantown Drive in Chesterfield around 4 p.m., Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Joel Bewley told Daily Voice. She was flown to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and remains critical, he said. The girl had reportedly left her nearby home a short while earlier, said Bewley, calling the incident "accidental and tragic."

A fast-acting Jersey Shore police officer smashed a window of a car to rescue a child accidentally locked inside by his mother, and then offered to cover the costs of a replacement window. The body of a three-year-old child was pulled out of a swimming pool in Atlantic County, authorities said. State troopers were called to a home in Buena Vista Township about 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday on a report of an unresponsive boy in a pool, a State Police spokesman said Louis Carlos Dimichele, of Buena Vista Township, was airlifted to a local hospital where the boy was pronounced died, the spokesman said. A 5-year-old boy died in a backyard pool drowning in Cresskill over the July 4th weekend, authorities confirmed Tuesday. A 47-year-old Clifton man was charged with hitting a child, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced. Peloton recalled all of its treadmill machines Wednesday. The popular exercise equipment company issued an apology for not acting faster on reports of nearly 72 injuries and the death of a 6-year-old child, who was pulled under the rear of a treadmill.
