These 9 NJ Towns Failed To Correct Sick Leave Policies, State Comptroller Says
Towns throughout the Garden State have not addressed their sick and vacation leave policies, the state's comptroller said. In a letter sent to Gov. Phil Murphy, Senate President Nicholas Scutari, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin and State Comptroller Kevin Walsh said nine municipalities have refused to cooperate and develop a correction action plan and is requesting that Murphy's office withhold state funds if they do not cooperate within 30 days. Authorities in Somerset County are seeking the public’s help identifying a man wanted for sexual assault. Police in Bridgewater Township responded to the reported assault at Duke Island Park just after 9:05 p.m. Sunday, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said. The female victim stated that the man had approached her from behind as she stopped to use her cell phone while riding her bike in the park around 8:45 p.m., Robertson said. Middlesex Firefighters Knock Down Apartment Fire, Tenant Treated For Smoke Inhalation
Middlesex Borough firefighters quickly knocked down a restaurant/apartment fire early Wednesday that injured one tenant, authorities said. Middlesex Police Department received a 9-1-1 call about 6 a.m. reporting smoke in a second floor apartment at 433 Lincoln Blvd. Officers found an active structure fire in the rear of the first floor of the building occupied by Sapore Ravioli & Cheese, police said.
