Video Shows Deadly 5-Car Crash That Brought Dozens Of Police Cars To Parkway
A 58-year-old Toms River resident was killed in a five-vehicle crash that closed the Garden State Parkway for hours Friday, authorities said. The 12 p.m. crash occurred on the southbound side near milepost 96.8 in Wall Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. It involved a Hyundai passenger car, a GMC SUV, a Ford Transit van, a Kia SUV, and a Jeep SUV. The GMC struck the rear of the Hyundai, then the front of the Ford collided with the GMC, the GMC collided with the Kia, and the Kia collided with the Jeep, Marchan said. Aggressive driving on New Year's Eve resulted in the arrest of two suspects on multiple drug charges, authorities said. Just after noon on Friday, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit observed an aggressive driver on Beaverson Boulevard cutting other drivers off, Brick police said. Federal authorities eventually caught on to Jose Rodriguez, 49, of Brick, then got a conviction for mail fraud. A 34-year-old repeat offender from the Jersey Shore has admitted to possessing thousands of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse, authorities said. Robert Clarkin, 52, Longtime Brick Plumber Enjoyed Kayaking
Robert V. Clarkin of Brick, a lifelong plumber who enjoyed kayaking, died on Oct. 18. He was 52. Mr. Clarkin was born in Levittown, Pennsylvania, but spent most of his life in Brick, his obituary says. He worked as a plumber for 35 years. Robert enjoyed helping others and was always there when someone needed him. In his free time, he enjoyed kayaking and spending time with his family. There's a new Wawa store coming to the Jersey Shore. Thursday marks the grand opening of the sixth Wawa store in Brick. Brick Police Arrest Shoplifter, 62, With $3,500 In Cigarettes At Toms River Wawa Gas Station
A 62-year-old man from the Jersey Shore was arrested at a Wawa gas station, authorities said. On Oct. 29 at 7:37 p.m. Brick patrol officers responded to the Wawa at 116 Brick Boulevard for a shoplifting call, according to Police Officer Victoria Finelli. Officers were able to view surveillance footage of a male subject who leaned over the cashier counter and grabbed a large brown box and exited the store, she said. A 75-year-old pedestrian was hurt when he was struck by an SUV on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Michael Falcone of Brick reportedly suffered internal injuries as a result of the crash which occurred Monday afternoon as Falcone was crossing The Boulevard at Blake Circle in the Greenbriar section of the township, police said. Pedestrian Struck In Jersey Shore Crash
First responders were called to the Jersey Shore on a report of a pedestrian struck during rush-hour, authorities said. The serious crash occurred about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 35 and Bowline Avenue in Brick township, initial reports said. NJ Couple Killed In Crash Returning From Cross Country Trip
A New Jersey community is mourning the loss of a young couple who died in an Illinois crash while returning home from a cross country vacation last Friday. Cole Young, 19, was behind the wheel of a 2008 Honda Odyssey on Interstate 70 when a westbound tractor trailer veered onto the median and then into oncoming traffic, according to Illinois State Police.
