Fire Destroys Home In Mercer County: Police A fire destroyed a home in Lawrence Township, authorities said. On Friday, Jan. 26, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Lawrence Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting smoke coming from 175 Johnson Ave in Eggerts Crossing Village. Police found a visible fire on the second floor of the home. The residents were not home. The fire was brought under control at about 2 p.m. There were no injuries, however the home sustained significant damage, police said.  The American Red Cross responded to the scene to aid the displaced family, they said.
