Driver Was Spinning Tires Before Killing NJ Lawyer In Nashville Crosswalk: Police
A 58-year-old New Jersey attorney and lobbyist was killed in Nashville, TN on Saturday, Oct. 19 after he was struck by a vehicle, authorities said. Michael O'Connell, of Belmar, was crossing the street with the walk light when he was struck by 2009 Dodge pickup truck attempting to make a left turn, Nashville police said in a release. The driver, Joey Nixon, 36, had a green light but failed to yield to the pedestrian, police said. O’Connell died at the scene, police said. Overturned Vehicle Takes Out 2 Lanes Of Route 3
An overturned vehicle blocked two lanes of Route 3 in Bergen County on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 15. The NJDOT site shows the crash happened in the eastbound lanes around 1:30 p.m., west of Route 17 in Rutherford. Police said no injuries were reported. Moderate delays were being reported.

Popular Newark Man Killed By Hit-Run Driver: Prosecutor
Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run crash that killed a popular Newark man. Ahmed Bouda, 29 has been charged after authorities said he struck and killed Corey Claybrook around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 on the 600 block of Springfield Avenue then fled the scene, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. Claybrook died approximately one hour later. A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Bergen County on Friday night, Oct 11 — the county's second fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in 24 hours. Police ID Scooter Rider, 18, Killed In Paterson Crash
Authorities have identified the 18-year-old man killed riding a scooter in Paterson Wednesday night, Oct. 2. Angelvl Javier-Reynos was riding with another 18-year-old city resident when they were struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee just before 8 p.m. at 9th and Madison avenues, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi said. Crash Shuts All Lanes Of Route 80 In Paterson
A crash closed all lanes of Route 80 in Paterson Sunday night, Sept. 29. Three vehicles were heading east when they were involved in a chain-reaction crash, each one rear-ending the next as traffic began to slow down at milepost 58.4 around 8:10 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. No injuries were reported and the highway has since reopened.

A 24-year-old Queens, NY man is facing charges for a crash on Route 4 that left multiple people seriously injured Sunday night, Sept. 16. Emelio S. Lutchmansingh was heading east in the westbound lanes, in a 2004 BMW M3, when he struck a 2020 Jeep Compass head-on at River Road around 11:15 p.m., Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Several horses were medically treated after the trailers they were being towed in were struck on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday, Sept. 10, firefighters said. Morris County Man Struck, Killed By Car In West Milford
A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in West Milford, authorities said. Mod A. Khader, of Lincoln Park, was trying to cross Route 23 south when he was struck by a vehicle around 6 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said. Khader was taken to Chilton Hospital where he died at 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck Khader remained at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
