Man, 42, Killed By Train In Garfield ID'd As Hackensack Resident Police have identified the person struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train on Tuesday morning, Oct. 1. Tameko Joseph, 42, of Hackensack, was struck by Bergen County Line train 1154 near the Garfield Station, near Outwater Lane, just before 7:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. The train had left Suffern, N.Y. at 7:09 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 8:14 a.m. There were no reported injuries to the 600 customers or crew on board. Mahwah PD Nabs Stolen Car Driver After Owner's BF Follows Him From NYC A man whose girlfriend's car was stolen in New York City tracked it to Suffern and then followed the driver into New Jersey, where Mahwah police made an arrest. The 2019 Mercedes 300 coupe was valet-parked at a Manhattan restaurant when it was stolen Tuesday night, May 28, Mahwah Police Lt. Michael Blondin said. Township police got a call at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday from the boyfriend, who the lieutenant said "was now behind it getting onto Route 287 south entering Mahwah" more than 25 miles from the city.
