A couple was shot at by an attempted robber man in North Bergen on the early morning of Tuesday, June 18, authorities said. At 2:35 a.m., officers responded to 76th Street and Bergenline and met with a couple who said they were getting off a bus when a man dressed in a track suit ran up to them from behind, put a gun to the boyfriend and demanded what he had on him, North Bergen police said. Woman Whose 5-Year-Old Killed 4-Year-Old Convicted In Separate NJ Murder Case
A 30-year-old Newark woman whose 5-year-old son shot and killed his 4-year-old brother, has been convicted in the 2022 murder of a man, authorities said. Itiyanah Spruill was convicted of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the fatal shooting of Lance Sally, Jr. in Nov. 2022, following a two-week trial, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. Spruill lured Sally to the location where he was shot by an unidentified individual and drove the vehicle used in the homicide, Stephens said. UPDATE: A man wanted for questioning in a New York City shooting pulled out a gun in the lobby of a Woodbridge hotel and was killed in a shootout with police, authorities said. Two police officers are recovering from injuries after being shot overnight at a hotel in Woodbridge while attempting to track down a homicide suspect.
