A Bergen Community College professor is being investigated on accusations he sexually assaulted a student, authorities said. On Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, a BCC student reported to both BCC Public Safety and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office that she had been sexually assaulted earlier that day by Zameer Baksh, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton said. Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a 65-year-old woman on Route 46 in Bergen County on Sunday, Dec. 15. The incident occurred around 9:11 p.m. when Vilma Huamani-Centeno, of Bloomfield, was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the highway in the eastbound lanes, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. A Bergen County man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of the 2021 murder of his girlfriend, who he stabbed and beat in her home, prosecutors said. Patrick J. A threatening comment from the ex-husband of a store associate cleared the Teterboro Walmart on Tuesday, authorities said. The man had called the Teterboro Landing Walmart shortly before noon June 11, Moonachie Police Lt. Jeff Napolitano said. Route 4 Reopens Nearly 12+ Hours After Crash Downs Wires
Route 4 has reopened more than 12 hours after a crash downed a pole and live wires in Teaneck, police said. Sometime after 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, a crash took down a pole in the westbound lanes near River Road, local police said. All lanes were closed with traffic getting by in one lane on the eastbound side, police said. At 9:30 p.m., Teaneck police announced the roadway had been reopened and all repairs had been made.
