A child was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County overnight on Tuesday, June 16, authorities said. At 1:29 a.m., troopers responded to Turnpike south in East Windsor Township after a Freightliner tractor-trailer struck the back of a Subaru, Caitlin Brennan, a spokesperson for the New Jersey State Police said. A man has been charged in the brutal killing of a mother of four who was found beaten to death behind her home, police announced Thursday, June 11. Dawaun Lewis, 30, was arrested in connection with the death of 45-year-old Keisha Furlow, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Furlow was discovered suffering from severe facial lacerations in a rear alley on the 2700 block of North Opal Street at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, police said. A child riding an electric powered vehicle was struck by a vehicle in Margate Thursday, May 14, authorities said. At 6 p.m., officers responded to the crash at Jerome and Fulton Avenues, Margate City police said. The child was evaluated by paramedics on scene who directed the juvenile be transported via New Jersey State Police helicopter to Cooper Hospital in Camden for further treatment, police said. An eight-year-old boy driving an electric bicycle broke his leg in a crash in Medford, authorities said. Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Wakefield Drive and Taisley Court at around 9:55 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, the Medford Township Police Department said in a news release. An Atlantic City woman and three children were accused of assaulting four people at a Mays Landing movie theater, authorities said. Kierra McQueen, 32, was arrested and charged with simple assault, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said in a news release on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
