On Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, Pleasantville police responded to 132 Edgewater Ave. and found Leslianet Quintana-Betancourt, a 25-year-old Pleasantville resident, unresponsive, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. Quintana-Betancourt was taken to Atlantic City Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Boris Lainez-Rosales, her live-in boyfriend was arrested in connection with her death, authorities said.
As previously reported by Daily Voice, Quintana-Betancourt was six months pregnant with a baby boy and died from “multiple blunt force injuries” on Monday, Dec. 2.
Quintana-Betancourt's family is now mourning the loss of both her and her unborn son, who would have been named Mateo, according to an obituary from Greenidge Funeral Homes. Her brother Jefra Castro started the fundraiser to honor their memory.
