Dozens of bourbon lovers lined up outside ShopRite Wines & Spirits of Franklin on Saturday, July 12, hoping to score a rare bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, EH Taylor, or other high-end spirits during the store’s fourth-ever Mystery Bourbon Lottery. The event, themed “Christmas in July,” kicked off at 9 a.m. at the Franklin Shopping Center on Route 23 in Sussex County. The same raffle was being held at ShopRite liquor stores in Succasunna and Flanders. Budd Lake Man Yelled At Dispatchers At Mount Olive Police HQ: Authorities
A 33-year-old Budd Lake man was arrested and charged on Sunday, June 1, after an altercation at police headquarters in Mount Olive, authorities said. At 5:50 a.m., Anthony Rondan entered the lobby of police headquarters where he became irate, yelling at police dispatchers and causing a disruption, Mount Olive police said. Rondan was asked by police officers to leave several times and he refused, police said. He was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Woman Drove Drunk, Struck Tree: Mt. Olive PD
A 50-year-old Flanders woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after she struck a tree on the evening of Tuesday, April 8, authorities said. At 6:41 p.m., officers responded to Route 206 near Oakwood Drive South after the vehicle driven by Gasparina Izzolo hit a tree, Mount Olive police said. Izzolo was uninjured in the crash, but police detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and noted she appeared to be impaired, officers said. A 59-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested and charged after he tried to open a bank account at TD Bank in Flanders using a phony driver's license on Thursday, March 27, authorities said. At 2 p.m., officers responded to TD Bank at 56 Flanders Bartley Rd. after a man, later identified as Marcus Goncalves, tried to open an account using a fraudulent New Jersey's driver's license, Mount Olive police said. A 27-year-old Budd Lake man was arrested and charged with drunk and reckless driving in a ShopRite parking lot on St. Patrick's Day, authorities said. A 29-year-old Somerset man was arrested and charged after he was caught stealing cooking oil from a pizzeria in Flanders on Saturday, March 8, authorities said. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle outside a 7-Eleven in Morris County on the morning of Thursday, July 18, authorities said. At 6:33 a.m., the pedestrian was struck outside the store at 294 Route 206 in Flanders, an unincorporated community in Mount Olive, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. A 35-year-old Flanders man was arrested and charged on Monday, June 10 with stealing a vehicle and credit cards to make multiple purchases in the area, police said. An 18-year-old Flanders resident has been identified as the victim killed in a two-car crash in Roxbury last month, authorities said. Jacob Davis was heading south on Howard Boulevard in a 2019 Mazda 3 in the collision with a northbound 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, around 10:30 p.m. Friday, May 31, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
