For the first time in decades, some Hudson River fish are allowed back on the menu. But not without limits. The New York State Department of Health this month announced updated guidance allowing people to eat certain fish from the Lower Hudson River for the first time in 50 years, according to state officials. A man was attacked by a beaver while fishing in Raritan Township on Thursday, Nov. 7, authorities said. A 54-year-old Flemington man said he was fishing in the South Branch Raritan River when he noticed a beaver swimming nearby, Raritan Township police said. A body was found in a river in Hunterdon County on Sunday, Oct. 27, authorities said. At 5:15 p.m., the Holland Township Police Department responded to a report of a body found in the Musconetcong River, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said.. Police have identified the fisherman who went missing and was later found dead in a New Jersey lake. Valeri Malov, of Pine Brook, had gone fishing in the body of water behind an industrial complex on Chapin Road Saturday morning, Aug. 24, Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano said.
