9 Dead In Fire At Massachusetts Assisted Living Facility
Nine people died in a late-night fire at an assisted living facility in Massachusetts, fire officials said.
The fire broke out around 9:50 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Gabriel House on Oliver Street in Fall River, according to Fall River Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon, Police Chief Kelly Furtado, State Fire Marshal Jon Davine, and Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III.
When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames at the front of the building with occupants trapped inside, officials said. Crews immediately went in, rescuing many residents while battling the fire.

A suspect is in custody after an actor who appeared on the iconic animated TV show King of the Hill was shot and killed.
Jonathan Joss and a former neighbor were involved in the incident in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday night, June 1.
San Antonio Police said officers responded at around 7 p.m. and discovered the 59-year-old Joss near the road after he was shot multiple times, according to ABC affiliate KSAT in San Antonio, noting he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people were injured and 13 people were displaced after a structure fire tore through a building in Phillipsburg on Friday, May 30, authorities said.
At 4:45 p.m., officers, fire and EMS responded to 266 Heckman St. for a structure fire with flames and heavy smoke showing, Phillipsburg police said.
Upon arrival, the fire had extended to the top two floors and the attic of the building, a 3-story multi-unit apartment structure, police said.
