Fundraiser Launched After NJ Grandfather Killed In Crash
Jose Mario Mancia Pineda, a 79-year-old Plainfield man, is being remembered after he was killed in a crash in Raritan Township on Tuesday, May 12.
Pineda, known as Mario, immigrated to the United States in 1990 and was a devoted member of St. Mary's Church in Plainfield, according to a fundraiser established to assist with his family.
"He was a hardworking, humble man, full of faith, and always ready to help others," Yasmin Mancia, who organized the fundraiser said.

Man Killed In Route 80 Crash After Striking Truck, Guardrail: Njsp
A 52-year-old Andover man was killed in a crash on Route 80 in Morris County early Wednesday morning, April 1.
At 4:19 a.m., troopers responded to Route 80 West in Roxbury, after a Jeep SUV lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the left, traveled through an emergency U-Turn area and struck the end of a guardrail, Christopher Postorino, a spokesman for the New Jersey Stat Police said.
After the initial crash, the Jeep continued forward into the westbound lanes and was struck by a Freightliner tractor trailer that was traveling west on I-80, Postorino said.

A Camden man was killed after being ejected from his vehicle during a fiery crash on Interstate 295 early Saturday, Oct. 11, authorities said.
Rasah Harris, 45, was traveling south on I-295 in an unknown make and model vehicle when he lost directional control around 1:12 a.m. near milepost 9.4 in Logan Township, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper II Christopher Postorino.
The vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, struck a parked Kia passenger vehicle, and then continued into a wooded area, where it hit trees and a fence, Postorino said.

State police have released new details on a fiery crash involving an ice cream truck and a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike in East Rutherford, Tuesday, Aug 20.
Troopers responded at 3:18 p.m. to the northbound western spur at milepost 112.2 in Bergen County, Sgt. Charles Marchan said.

Two people were injured in a crash between a motorcycle and five cars on Route 78 in Hunterdon County on Saturday, June 15, state police said.
At 5:02 p.m., a crash occurred between five passenger vehicles and a motorcycle on Route 78 west in Clinton Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
During the crash, one of the vehicles, a Subaru, caught on fire and the motorcyclist was ejected, Lebron said.
